Grivalia Hospitality and Tourism S.A. is set to invest € 224 million in developing a luxury eco-resort and upscale holiday homes on Megalonisos, Petalioi, near Evia. The project is currently in the planning stage, and a date for construction is yet to be announced.
The resort will feature a variety of essential green infrastructure, including an advanced water supply and irrigation system, a desalination unit, a fire protection system, energy-efficient lighting, and a boat dock. These eco-friendly features align with the resort’s commitment to sustainable tourism practices.
The green resort will offer a luxury hotel, restaurants, wellness areas, and a beach club, offering a range of services for both Greek and international guests. Additionally, luxury branded residences will be built. Grivalia’s € 224 million investment is expected to significantly contribute to Greece’s GDP. The project will also create nearly 800 jobs during construction and 400 permanent jobs once operational, providing a boost to the local economy.
The Greek government has approved three major investments with a total budget exceeding € 1.2 billion. This project is part of this strategic initiative, highlighting the government’s dedication to high-end tourism infrastructure.
