European Business Angels Network (EBAN) to host 2023 annual meeting in Athens, Greece



The European Business Angels Network (EBAN) is the pan-European organization representing the early stage investor community in Europe. It includes over 150 member organizations in more than 50 countries today. Established in 1999 by a group of pioneer angel networks in Europe with the collaboration of the European Commission and EURADA, EBAN represents a sector that invests some € 11.4 billion to fund start-ups and SMEs.


The next EBAN Annual Congress will be held in Athens, Greece, from 24-26 April 2023. This landmark event will be co-organised by Enterprise Greece and the Hellenic Business Angels Network.


The Greek tech and start-up sector is rapidly evolving, and Greece recently announced its first unicorn: Viva Wallet. According to Marathon Venture Capital, 608 Greek startup companies raised a total of $6 bln in 927 investment rounds by 790 investors between 2010 and 2020. The current rate of investment in Greek start-ups is estimated at between € 800 million to € 1 billion per year.
